George Parry Part 1 - Working on Track Maintenance, Railway Camps, Multicultural Newman, Life in the early 70s in Newman
In this podcast, George Parry recalls his arrival in Newman in 1971 and his first job in track maintenance. He spent 7 years in that job, and spent much of that time in the camps along the railway line. He describes what life was like in the early days of Newman and especially what life was like in the railway camps. He also remembers the very multicultural nature of Newman and the many nationalities that were represented.
