Saad Didan Part 3 - Mosque, Jobs, Outstanding Characters, Strikes, Racism
In this podcast, Saad Didan, in conversation with Lisa Rickert, continues to recount his memories of the Newman Mosque and how it affected his life. He describes how the Company allowed him to go to pray during his lunch break. He then outlines his jobs at the mine, including being a Drill Sampler and a Lab Assistant. He recalls some outstanding characters from his time in Newman, but also found the strikes were often called because of insignificant catering problems, rather than issues on the Mine, and this affected his pay packet. He also tells about how he overcame racism and adapted to life in Newman.
