Richard and Margaret Hennessy Part 5 - Being a young Mum, Life after Newman, Concluding thoughts.

In this podcast,  Margaret recalls what it was like to be a young Mum in Newman - a positive experience. Life was a big adventure where you could entertain yourselves both in your social life and in the bush. Richard recalls life after they let in 1995. He started back at Warnbro High School, then made his way Chisholm Catholic College and stayed there for 25 years, eventually becoming Deputy Principal. Their concluding thoughts consist of fond memories and great experiences.

In this podcast, Richard and Margaret Hennessy reminisce about some of the highlights of their stay in Newman, including making many friends and the beauty of the countryside. They outline some of the changes they noted after revisiting recently, especially the arrival of the Dome cafe and the building of the new hospital. They also recall some of the groups they belonged to, including the Catholic Church and Patchwork and cooking groups at the TAFE. Margaret also describes what it was like to be a young mum up there.

In this podcast, Shane Markham  joins Lisa Rickert in sharing some memories of Newman. Shane recalls what a good bloke Les Tutt was. He then talks about his time at Pioneers and also at NSHS. He remembers how so many of his Newman friends are friends for life, and he still keeps up with many of them. Lisa reminds him of his skill on the high diving board at the pool, and he attributes that to his time spent on the trampoline at the YMCA, where he fondly remembers Ron Armstrong and his daughter Cathy.

Shane Markham Part 1 - Arrival, Schools, Jobs, Saints, Swimming and Diving

In this podcast, Shane Markham describes how came to Newman in 1972, as a young boy, with his parents and siblings, Sonia, Mick, Karen and Gary. He lived in Fortescue Ave and attended Newman Primary and then the High School. After school he joined the Trainee Miner Scheme, which gave the participants an overview of the trades available at the mine. He was very involved with Saints footy club, as he lived next door to Les Tutt. He also talks about his involvement with the swimming pool, especially his ability on the high diving board.
